Rough benchmark

  • Under 1% — Low
  • 1% – 3.5% — Average
  • 3.5% – 6% — Good
  • Above 6% — Very high

Informal ranges commonly used by marketers, not an official Instagram metric. Account size matters a lot here — per HypeAuditor's published 2026 research, the platform-wide average sits around 2.2%, but accounts with 1K–5K followers average closer to 4.8%, while accounts in the 100K–1M range average nearer 1.0%. A smaller, more personal account scoring "Average" by the ranges above may actually be underperforming for its size, and a huge account scoring "Low" may be entirely normal for its size.
